CLE Austin hosts Video Game Development Camp
Spring Break, March 12-16 2012
What is
Game Development camp?
A
one week opportunity for
15 high school students with diverse learning needs who wish to gain hands on experience in creating a video game from the very beginning idea stages to the finished product ready for play. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for a
hands on experience for students to work as a team organizing, planning, and executing the development of a game. Students will learn from experienced staff instructing them on professional grade video game design software and tools and have a product at the end.
Benefits of Game Development Camp:
- Opportunity to build & create a unique video game with industry software
- Work with a team and build new relationships & lasting friendships
- Develop useful critical problem solving skills
- Allow yourself to think creatively in a fun & positive environment
Developing the skill sets needed for successful team building and individual self-esteem will be a focus during the Game Development Camp. Through coaching by our staff psychologist, students will actively learn and experience what it takes to work in a positive team environment.
Student teams will showcase their customized creation, and will take home the one of a kind designed game with personal content added during the week.
